PYXEL Packaging

PYXEL is a coding robot toy where kids follow simple instructions to program it to perform amazing actions, show sweet expressions, and make silly sounds. It was the marquee item for the company at the time.

The challenge was creating a package that would stand out in the market as we notice in our research competitive products stayed within a blue, white and gray palette. I created the logo, look and feel for PYXEL showing the variety of lights and expressions of the toy and also rendered all images of the package and guide (using Keyshot) as the physical product was not available in time to meet production deadlines.

Another challenge was figuring out the best way to explain the instructions to play. Working along the product manager and copywriter we were able to come up with 9 simples steps for the Quickstart Guide that comes along with the product. The tri-folded guide was later translated in over 10 different languages, each with its own set of layout challenges.

I also worked on the PYXEL User Interface and PYXEL Website
