Hello, my name is Andres Alfonso aka Afar25
I’m a graphic web designer and illustrator based in Los Angeles, California. But more than a designer I’d like to think of myself as a creative problem solver. I love solving problems, be it coming up with a new logo for a product and/or a brand, or working within guidelines to create something structured and effective. I can design a website from start to finish, move on to web development and have it behave and react exactly how I envisioned. And I can do this with straight-up HTML, CSS and Javascript or I can do it through a content management system like Wordpress, Magento, Shopify, and more.
I’ve been drawing and experimenting since I was a kid and while I do have a well-defined personal style that involves monkeys and animals with gold chains, cool shoes, boomboxes, and streetwear I can adjust my style depending on the project and target audience. I can work on traditional style of illustration, do digital or a combination of both. I also like to sculpt little characters with super sculpey and make paintings on canvases, wood panels, skateboards and whatever I can paint on.
On a personal note, I like traveling, art (consuming and creating), and skateboarding. I like skateboarding so much that I created a whole website dedicated to it - sk82live.com - where I like to share articles, interviews, photography, videos and more. I also volunteer with Next Up Foundation, a foundation that through skateboarding and the arts, stimulates increased interest in school, promotes higher education, and presents career opportunities among underserved Los Angeles youth. Most recently we did a 8-month after-school program at The Berrics which is a privately owned skatepark in downtown Los Angeles. I was the design instructor and would teach kids the fundamentals of design and show them how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create their own custom skateboards, shirts, hats, stickers and more. But not before skating for an hour with the kids. Gotta skate.
I'm currently looking for work opportunities in the Los Angeles area or remote. Contact me today.
