Mixaroo Packaging

Mixaroo is a stuffed plush toy that comes with 11 easy-stick animal parts and pieces where kids can build their own favorite toy.

The challenge was creating a package for a plush toy and still relate the softness and cuteness of the product in a closed box. I took the photos of the product to use on the package and put together a few builds to show some of the possibilities of Mixaroo. For the back I laid out all the pieces along with the base. On the top flaps of the box I was able to create a heart shape to reinforce the cuteness of the character.

I laid out the 8-page guide using Adobe InDesign and got to work on a special edition that was sold through QVC exclusively. For the special edition we added 2 animal parts and turned the box into a carrier with ears and space for kids to make it their own by naming it and writing who it belongs to.

On this particular project I worked on for 2-3 years before it was release, having worked on a similar but completely different look product that did not make it to production. Then adjusting to having worked with 2 creative directors, 3 product managers and 2 illustrators throughout the project.
